A Little Main Street History

 

The Main Street Princess Anne Partnership was organized in 2007 under the leadership of local private citizens Jim & Simone Theiss, Ben Alder, Beth and Alby Modiano. The State of Maryland accepted the partnership into the state and national program.  The original partnership included the Town of Princess Anne, the Somerset Historic Trust, UMES and the Princess Anne Chamber. The Main Street program is a central focus and vehicle for the Town’s Long Range Plan. Main Street greatest strength is our focus on bringing people together around the redevelopment and future of downtown Princess Anne.  

 

The strong working partnership with the Town of Princess Anne has been instrumental in the majority of the accomplishments.  Until 2016, the Town all grants to Main Street.

A charitable arm of Main Street Princess Anne was recognized by the IRS in 2015 as a 501 (c)(3) organization to enable tax deductible gifts and grants to be received.
